Fr. Francis Pompei, OFM, to Present Parish Mission
at St. Joseph’s Church in Oswego
Why are the lives of people of all ages filled with so much stress, worry, fear, and unhappiness? Why are families, relationships, and marriages in crisis? Why have violence, emptiness, and loneliness become commonplace? Jesus came to tell us why and to reveal the truth about the world and its deceiving promises. He came to set us free and to lead us to the truth about ourselves and life, where and how to find the truth, and how to live it. He came to give us “Life” to the fullest and to experience peace of mind, real love, and abundant joy!
A Franciscan friar from Buffalo, NY, and a native of Oswego, Father Francis Pompei will be presenting a parish mission on February 26-28 at St. Joseph’s Church, 240 West First Street in Oswego, NY. The mission will begin at 7 P.M each evening and will last about one hour and ten minutes with prayer, readings, talk, and a concluding ritual of experiencing the Lord.
Fr. Pompei is the author and director of the Franciscan Mystery Plays in which traveling groups of teens present living meditations in sanctuaries of churches throughout the United States. These meditations have been presented and well received for the past thirty-five years.
Over the years, Father Pompei’s ministry has been devoted to working with the poor, and he has done extensive retreat work with adults and teenagers. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy, a Master’s Degree in Theology, a Master’s Degree in Spirituality, and a Certificate in Sign Language for the Deaf
All are welcome and encouraged to attend the mission on February 26-28 to share in “a powerful experience of Jesus.”
