World Marriage Day Mass and Celebration

Add To Calendar

Sunday, February 14, 2021

World Marriage Day is a national celebration started by Worldwide Marriage Encounter Ministries. It takes place on the 2nd Sunday in February (close to Valentine’s Day) each year. The Diocese of Syracuse Office of Family/Respect Life celebrates this day by hosting a special Mass with the Bishop at the Cathedral. During the Mass, all married couples are encouraged to attend and renew their marriages with special blessings during the Mass. We especially recognize the 20, 25, and 50+ anniversaries (occurring in the year the Mass takes place) by handing out certificates to those couples. After Mass all are welcome to join us for a short reception.

Bishop Lucia would like to invite couples celebrating 25, 50 or more years of marriage in 2021 to receive special recognition at the World Marriage Day Mass on February 16th, 2020.  To receive an invitation for your special anniversary, please email
