Holy Hour with Bishop Lucia

Add To Calendar

Bishop Lucia cordially invites you to join him for a very special Holy Hour for Vocations on the World Day of Prayer for Vocations, which takes place on Sunday, April 21st at 2:30pm at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Syracuse.  The most recent CARA study on the class of 2023 ordinands suggests that over 72 percent of diocesan priests and over 80 percent of consecrated religious actively participated in Eucharistic Adoration before they entered formation.  This is a staggering figure.  It is clear that Eucharistic Adoration is the source and summit of all vocations.  In a beautiful act of spiritual solidarity, let us gather together as a diocesan family on April 21st with our spiritual shepherd at our mother church in the presence of our Eucharistic Lord to beg “the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.”

All active members of the Vocation Ministry Teams in our parishes and schools are welcome to stay after the Holy Hour for a special Vocation Ministry Council Meeting in the Cathedral Gathering Space at 3:30pm. This will be a great way for us to pray and discern together as a group what our next steps will be for vocation promotion for the next academic year. Please register for this special vocation ministry meeting for parishes and schools at vocations@syrdio.org.
