We chose Our Lady of Czestochowa, known as the Black Madonna, because she represents a powerful symbol of faith, protection, and resilience, especially for the people of Poland. Her image has long been a source of strength in times of struggle, and today, as the war in Ukraine continues, she serves as a reminder of hope and intercession. With Holy Mary’s guidance, we pray for peace and an end to the suffering of the Ukrainian people, who, as neighbors to Poland, share a deep historical and cultural bond.
The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, designated as a pilgrimage church during this Jubilee year, provides a fitting setting to honor Our Lady of Czestochowa. For us, this devotion is personal, as it reflects our Polish heritage and our desire to stay connected to our spiritual roots. The Sacred Heart Rosary Society has long upheld this tradition, having honored Our Lady during the 32nd Rally on October 6, 2002. By continuing this devotion today, we express our gratitude for her protection and reaffirm our commitment to faith and peace.
