Theology Uncorked welcomes Beth Lynch. Beth’s title for her talk will be “Why Did St. Kateri Tekakwitha Convert to Catholicism”; Exploring Indigenous Conversions and its Consequences in the 17th Century. St. Kateri Tekakwitha was among the first indigenous of what is now Canada and the U.S. who converted through the Jesuit missionaries. Hers was a life of sacrifice whereas other indigenous converts suffered martyrdom.
