Eight Day Novena of the Chaplet of the Holy Spirit

Starting Friday, May 15th through Friday, May 22nd The Good News will begin an eight day novena of the Chaplet of the Holy Spirit.

In order to give the faithful an easy means of honoring the Holy Spirit, a Capuchin Franciscan missionary of the English province, composed the Chaplet of the Holy Spirit in 1892. It was approved by Pope Leo XIII in 1902.

The primary aim of the chaplet is to seek the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. It is often recited when important decisions must be made or when special spiritual assistance is needed. It helps believers invite divine inspiration, guidance in life’s trials, and strength in weakness.
